Will’s Pub hosts a reunion night for old Wall Street bars including Kit Kat, Harold & Maude’s and Go Lounge.
SO proud of my male BFF practicallyinfo and his co-pilots for getting together to play the hits! pissed i can’t be there. it’s going to be an incredible show.
while drinking coffee, going through morning emails and preparing for the day, the mystical unicorn that is Spotify told me that i should listen to Pete Yorn today. little does Spotify know that Pete and i go way back.
i was introduced to Mr. Yorn through my “first love” my freshman year of college in 2002. a time when people still bought cds and us western ks kids who liked indie music had to go to Target to get any fix with some substance.
my initial reaction to the album was literally “wow, Pete Yorn is really good looking!” i was a very stupid, superficial being back then. the more i listened to the record, the more it began to serve as the perfect background to my relationship with A. we had a good 2 year run, but ultimately we both realized that it wasn’t going to work out. i think the song “EZ” encapsulates that.
the mourning after finding out about his betrayal was HARD and made it impossible to listen to this album. even in my other relationships in college with better guys, i couldn’t stomach one word from Yorn’s mouth…it brought everything up. but eventually i graduated, i was single, i was making plans to move to NYC…i was happy. i gave Pete another chance and haven’t stopped since.
let’s be honest, this isn’t going to go down in the history of music as “one of the best albums ever created,” but for me, it will always be special. when i listen to it now, i feel nostalgic and grateful for everything that i experienced at that time.
SO thank you for your musical contribution to my life with this album, Mr. Yorn. as for the album you made with Scarlett Johansson? i’d like my money back. Please.
Host Whoopi Goldberg brought the funny all evening long at Wednesday’s 55th Clio Awards in New York. But it was Jerry Seinfeld who brought down the house with a brilliant, hilarious speech about why he loves advertising—which ended up being a blistering anti-advertising rant that comically eviscerated the business.
'atta boy, Jerry! love him. SO much truth.

At this point, Funny Or Die is debuting music videos that aren’t even trying to be funny — and that’s fine, as long as they’re good videos. TV On The Radio’s
Children love candy and so do I but that’s not important. What children don’t love is candy that is shaped like penises. That’s fucked up. And parents in New Zealand are not happy about the fact that penis-shaped candy was being sold to their young ones.
it’s the little things in life that keep a smile on my face. :)
